The first SportSIX competition of May was certainly thrilling to say the least and produced another BIG cash winner, who almost went all the way and became our very first jackpot winner. Last weekend we began on Saturday counting the goals in the premiership. The final tally was 14 and this meant we carried several players to the second leg with their predicting record intact.
We then headed over to the Aviva premiership where we were looking at the total points scored in the always exciting match between Harlequins and Saracens. It was a relatively low scoring game that seemed to catch out a lot of players who did not manage to select the 29 or less option for this question.
Tottenham and Blackpool battled to a 1-1 draw meaning that after 3 events, we had one person left in the chase for the elusive jackpot.
So it was over to Sunday where we began with the Turkish Grant Prix in which Lewis Hamilton just missed out on a podium position, coming in 4th. Sadly this meant the end to Gemstone’s quest for the jackpot, but their weekend was still about to become very profitable with two events remaining.
Sunday afternoon’s feature Premier League match pitted Manchester United against Chelsea. Here, we were counting corners, of which there were fewer than the average game, but a result that put a smile on Gemstone’s face as they now had correctly predicted 4 out of 5 results which meant a guaranteed payout of at least £45.
So in the final event of the day, a lot was riding on the number of games played in the final of the Madrid Masters Tennis for Gemstone who could potentially increase their spoils to over £70 if they correctly predicted this result. It was a great match and it left us with another huge cash winner as Gemstone took away the entire contents of the 5 pool!
