Last weekend saw the culmination of our March monthly league and yet another winner with one plucky punter carrying away the entire contents of the ‘4’ pool. We are certainly having an incredible run of winners at the moment, but the question remains, can anyone take it to the next level and cash that elusive cheque for £1,000?! It really could be you, so make sure you get your answers in early! In the mean time, here is a quick rundown of last week’s competition.
It was all about International football as qualifiers for Euro 2012 continued. As the final whistle at the Millennium Stadium, England beat Wales 2-0 and it seems most people expected for more goals to be netted in this game. Nonetheless, after this first result it meant seven players moved on to question two with a 100% predicting record.
We moved on to more football action, this time we were concentrating on Bulgaria v Switzerland but looking more specifically at the number of corners. In total there were eight, and this whittled down the seven players to just three as we went into our third and final event of Saturday.
A list minute Huddersfield try denied Goldfish the opportunity to continue his impressive predicting streak which in turn also meant that mags and racheldiaz74 were also out of the running. The total points in the match was 54 so we had some very unfortunate players.
The Andalucian Open kicked off Sunday’s sporting festivities, a competition that was won by Paul Lawrie with a total of 4 birdies in the final round. At this point there were still some players in with a decent shout at taking away some runners up prize money and the monthly league was certainly heating up.
Northampton Saints v London Wasps was our penultimate stop on the SportSix Express, a game which we were paying attention to the total number of trys. In total, there were five and as we entered our final event we were pretty confident that some prize money would be carried away.
It wasn’t long before Goldfish became a winner....yet again, cementing his place as our greatest player of all time! Question six saw us counting bookings in the League One game between Huddersfield Town and Notts County. It was this result that crowned our monthly league winner as well as gave Goldfish his cash for scooping the 4 pool! In total we awarded 5 points for red and yellow cards and this brought this completion to a close.
So, what a month March was. We created some seriously big winners, took our grand total for money given away to well over the £1,000 mark and crowned racheldiaz74 our monthly winner! And, you know what? It is all about to begin again! April is right around the corner which means a whole new league is about to kick off! Make sure you are a part of it!
